Sharing Our Students’ Stories: Disability Pride Month Edition
A Roundup of Inspiring Students From the CUNY SPS Disability Studies Programs
This July, I’m delighted to join with the rest of CUNY SPS in celebrating Disability Pride Month (along with the 33rd anniversary of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act)!
To start, I am eagerly following the Disability Pride Month Instagram campaign created by CUNY SPS’ dedicated student group, the Disability and Access Coalition.
Over the next few weeks, I’m also exploring a few of the Disability Pride Month resources curated by the CUNY SPS Committee on Institutional Equity and Diversity.
Finally, I’m also spending some time exploring the groundbreaking online disability studies programs at CUNY SPS and the amazing community of disability studies advocates, scholars, and activists these programs have nurtured.
In addition to my recent interview with Dr. Marcum, the new academic director of the CUNY SPS online disability studies programs, here’s a roundup of a few student and alumni profiles from our YouTube archives. I’ll be bookmarking and watching these all during the rest of this month!
