I am very excited to share what’s next on my reading list — the FY22 Year in Review report from the CUNY SPS Office of Professional Education and Workplace Learning (PEWL).

Established in 2006, PEWL’s mission is to provide individuals with the opportunity to advance their careers through professional coursework, and help organizations achieve their goals with custom workplace learning programs. Since its inception, PEWL has served more than 280,000 workers by developing and running training programs for city and state agencies and private organizations.

This publication, the third one published by PEWL, looks back at all the remarkable achievements made by the unit over the course of the 2021–2022 academic year.

As I’m learning from the report, under the leadership of Executive Director Amy Perez, PEWL managed and implemented a portfolio of $32.7 million in grants and contracts.

Some of the programs’ biggest achievements are highlighted in this issue, including how the CUNY/Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) used technology to further the agency’s goals; the expansion of the Academy for Community Behavioral Health; and the efforts made to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into the Managing for Innovation program.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! I can’t wait to dig in.
