Front Cover of the 2021–22 CUNY SPS Magazine

In the middle of a dreary January, I’ve found something to cheer me up: the 2021–22 issue of the CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) Magazine.

I may be a little biased, but I found the magazine a delight to read, and a real pick-me-up during a gloomy month.

Among the things I’ve learned: that an alum, who now serves as a New York State Assembly Member, has sponsored a bill to end jail time for minor parole violations; that our founding dean originally got the idea for CUNY SPS on a train; and that three of our students got inspired to write and publish their own children’s books!

More than anything, these stories paint a larger picture of a growing and vibrant school community. I found it riveting and truly inspiring.

Next on my reading list: a back issue!
